About TowCars – Towing Help Nationwide
TowCars is an information and referral website for drivers across the United States. We help people understand their towing options and connect them with independent companies that provide towing, junk-car buying, and car shipping services.
We want to be upfront about one thing: TowCars does not tow cars. We do not own tow trucks, employ drivers, buy vehicles, or ship cars. When you send us a request, we pass your details to one or more independent service providers who may be able to help. Those providers set their own prices, schedules, and terms, and they are responsible for the work they do.
What We Do
- Explain towing in plain English. Our guides cover how towing works, which towing methods suit which vehicles, why electric, all-wheel-drive, and low-clearance cars need extra care, and when car shipping makes more sense than a tow.
- Connect you with providers near you. If you need a tow, want to sell a junk or non-running car, or need to ship a vehicle, you can submit a short request and we will share it with independent partner companies that serve your area.
- Help you ask the right questions. We encourage every reader to get a clear quote, confirm the towing method, and understand all fees before agreeing to any service.
Who We Serve
TowCars serves drivers nationwide. Our guides are written for drivers anywhere in the United States, and you can send a quote request from any U.S. ZIP code. We share it with independent providers that may serve your area. Availability depends on the providers near you, so we can’t promise that someone will be able to help in every location.
How TowCars Makes Money
TowCars is free for drivers to use. We may be paid by partner companies when we share a service request with them, and we may show advertising, including Google AdSense ads, on our pages. Some links may be affiliate links. These arrangements help keep the site running, but they do not change the safety advice in our guides. You can read the details in our Advertising & Affiliate Disclosure and our Privacy Policy.
What We Don’t Do
- We do not perform towing, roadside assistance, vehicle purchases, or transport ourselves.
- We do not guarantee that a provider will be available, how fast they will arrive, or what they will charge.
- We do not inspect, license, or insure the providers we connect you with. Please check any company yourself before you hire it.
In an Emergency
If you are in danger, injured, or stopped in a live traffic lane, call 911 first. Stay safely away from traffic, and on a freeway stay inside your vehicle with your seatbelt on if you cannot get to a safe spot. A towing request through our website is not an emergency service.
